Lawrence has led Chinook Solutions since founding the company in 1999. With over 30 years of varied international experience, he has the broad range of expertise and insights to help leaders identify and achieve their goals.

Lawrence’s career began early, meeting the diverse expectations of his family’s retail furnishing empire. His first real career took him, via an apprenticeship at the world famous Bletchley Park, to a role as an Air Traffic Engineer at Heathrow Airport. He subsequently supported the US Military in Germany as a civilian contractor and was part of a small team that won the Queen’s Award for Industry with Neotronics PLC, before joining Bombardier Aerospace in Canada in 1987.

Within Bombardier, Lawrence was assigned to Canadair, DeHavilland, Learjet and the Regional Aircraft Division performing transformational change leadership roles in Engineering, Manufacturing and Information Systems. After Bombardier, he managed information technologies, strategic planning and portfolio management projects with IBM, Renaissance and Emergence Consulting before establishing Chinook Solutions in 1999

Supported by his team at Chinook Solutions, Lawrence has been at the heart of over 100 engagements for clients in public, private and non-profit sectors and across a wide range of industries. He brings clarity to his client’s strategic visions, pragmatism and alignment to their consideration of alternatives, and focus to their execution efforts.

As a trusted advisor Lawrence has reassured business owners and investors, helping them to:

    • assess alternatives,
    • formulate business models
    • develop road maps
    • prepare business plans
    • eliminate low value activities,
    • turnaround their operations,
    • extract value from their investments, and
    • fill skill gaps by ‘stepping in’ when necessary.

With larger organizations Lawrence has guided leadership teams as they clarify and communicate complex strategic visions, establish project portfolios, change governance practices, reengineer processes, implement performance frameworks and execute their programs.

As a certified management consultant, project management professional and Prosci ADKAR change manager, he brings his associations’ bodies of knowledge to bear while respecting, and ultimately being held accountable to, their codes of ethical practice.

In addition to his accomplishments as a business advisor and public speaker, in 2008, Lawrence’s first book ‘Strategic DNA – Bringing Business Strategies to Life’ was published by Agate B2 in Chicago. Strategic DNA is a “how-to compendium” for the development and successful execution of broadly supported projectized strategies.

Lawrence lives with his wife and family in Ottawa, Ontario. He may be reached at 613-229-9353 or by email at
